Craig M. MaxfieldBeloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend;Craig M. Maxfield, 23, of Lowell, a member of a widely known Lowell family, died unexpectedly Saturday morning August 11, 2018 in Lowell.He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 30, 1995, a loving son of Brian J. and Carole L. (Keaney) Maxfield.Craig attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar school and was a graduate of Lowell Catholic High School in the Class of 2013. He went on to graduate from Merrimack College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance.Craig worked as a Compensation Specialist at Commonwealth Financial in Waltham.A dedicated athlete, Craig loved all sports, especially baseball, hockey and golf. While at Lowell Catholic High School, he was the starting shortstop on the 2013 State Championship baseball team and was also awarded the 7th Player award from the Varsity hockey team. His love for street hockey took him on many family trips, including Niagara Falls. Craig was active in intramural sports at Merrimack and was a Junior Member of Long Meadow Golf Club.Craig had an infectious smile and contagious energy, which endeared him to everyone he met. He was deeply caring and compassionate. His wit was forever present and was a testament to the connection he had to those he loved. Craig will be missed by his devoted best friend Max McCabe along with dozens of friends through his sports and school. He will be especially missed by his “brothers” from Belvidere and Merrimack College.Besides his parents Brian and Carole, Craig is survived by his younger brother Eric J. Maxfield of Lowell; his maternal grandmother Marjorie Keaney of Lowell; his paternal step grandmother Theresa Maxfield of Leominster; three aunts Patricia Bergin of Woburn, Lisa Contreras of Leominster and Lynne Boyce of Fitchburg; several cousins and his girlfriend Olivia Boudreau.The family wishes to extend thanks to the amazing outpouring of love and support from relatives, friends and the community. We would especially like to thank the Lowell Police for their commitment to our family.Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday.
