Frederick T. Abraham

A member of a well-known Lowell family;

Frederick T. Abraham, 96, of Lowell, died Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Palm Center in Chelmsford with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Florence T. (Salem) Abraham who died August 14, 2015.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, February 15, 1922, a son of the late Joseph and Martha (Joseph) Abraham, he grew up in the Acre and attended St. Patrick’s Boy’s School and Lowell High School. He went on to attend Merrimack College in North Andover. 

A proud veteran of World War II, Fred served his country as a member of the U. S. Navy. 

Prior to his retirement, Fred was employed as an Electronic Inspector with Raytheon Corporation in South Lowell, Andover and Waltham for over 25 years. He was a member of the IBEW, Local 1505 in Woburn. 

Fred was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Delaney Council and the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks. He was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots and the Red Sox. 

Fred loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

He was a communicant of both St. Patrick Church and St. Rita Parish in Lowell. 

Fred is survived by his daughter Joyce A. Corbett and her husband Mark of Hamden, CT; two sons Brian P. Abraham and wife Cheryl of Glendale, AZ and Frederick P. Abraham and wife Kim of Taunton, MA; daughter-in-law Kathryn (Dolan) Abraham of Londonderry, NH; six grandchildren Jennifer Ferreira and  husband Joseph of Pelham, NH, Megan Donovan and  husband James of Derry, NH, Matthew Corbett and  Crystal Bashore of Mystic, CT, Stephen Corbett and his wife Amy of Spring, TX, Thomas Corbett and wife Emily of Hamden, CT and Benjamin Abraham of Taunton, MA; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

He was also the father of the late Warren J. Abraham and brother of the late Edward J. and Louis T. Abraham. 

The Abraham family would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to Lynn Schwartz for her many years of caring for Fred and, prior to that, his wife Florence.  Her compassion and kindness toward each of them helped make their lives much brighter.

Family and friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Friday followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, Suffolk St. in Lowell at 11 o'clock. Burial to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
