Longtime artist and carpenter;Bruce W. Blair, 73 years young, of Lowell, passed away peacefully Saturday November 10, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital. He also lived in Tyngsboro, and Dracut MA.Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, March 14, 1945, a son of the late Arthur R. and the late Eleanor R. (Corbett) Blair, he attended Cambridge public schools and was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin school in1963. He studied art under the teacher and artist, Rita Ritterbush.After serving our country, Bruce went on to graduate from Massachusetts College of Art where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1974.A veteran of the Vietnam War, Bruce served in the U.S. Navy as a Russian Interpreter. He trained in Monterey Language School in California. Bruce would send home his paychecks to assist with the financial needs of his siblings. Santa Bruce was good to us.Prior to his retirement, Bruce was a carpenter for the Fred L. Webster Company, Inc. for many years.In addition, he was a longtime local artist who was commissioned to create works of art for local commercial projects.Bruce is survived by his three siblings Bryan W. Blair and his wife Nancy of Framingham, Deborah R. Blair of Rotonda West, FL and Denise R. (Blair) Yuse and her husband Steven of Hampton, NH; and the following nieces and nephews; Jacob Blair, Elizabeth Klausner, Benjamin Yuse, Adam Yuse, and Katheryn Arnold.
