Catherine F. Donahue

Beloved sister, aunt, great aunt and friend;

Catherine F. Donahue, 84, a member of a well-known Greater Lowell family, passed away peacefully on Friday October 14, 2022, after an extended decline in health at Legacy Care -Sunny Acres in Chelmsford, MA.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 28, 1937, the daughter of the late Atty. Joseph P. and the late Dorothy F. (Riordan) Donahue, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1955.

She went on to graduate from Wheelock College in Boston with a Bachelor of Science in Education and received her Master's in Education from Lesley College.

Prior to her retirement, Catherine was a highly respected School Teacher in the Lexington school system for many years. Previously, she taught internationally in both Japan and Poland.

Catherine resided in Falmouth, MA where she loved the solitude and in her earlier years enjoyed volunteering with the Friends of Falmouth Dogs.

She is survived by a brother David W. Donahue and his wife Jean of Winchester, MA; sister Dorothy F. (Donahue) Sullivan and her husband James of Westford, MA; two sisters-in-law Nancy L. Donahue of Lowell and Karen B. Donahue of Tyngsboro; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, both near and far.

Catherine was predeceased by her siblings Daniel J. Donahue, Joseph P. Donahue, Richard K. Donahue and Margaret K. Raney.

The Donahue family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Legacy Care – Sunny Acres in Chelmsford for their years of compassionate care for Catherine and to Beacon Hospice for their care and support in her final journey.
