MARY TSOUMAS

 

     Mary Tsoumas, 92, a lifelong resident of the Acre Section of the City, passed away Wednesday evening, April 13th , at Saints Medical Center surrounded by her family.
    
Born in Lowell, July 24, 1918, the daughter of the late John and the late Demetra (Alexakos) Tsoumas, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell Trade High School.
    
Miss Tsoumas was an active member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church and also a member of the Philoptchos Society.
    
Before retiring, she was a bindery feeder at the Courier Citizen Corporation,  Directory Division in Lowell for many years.
    
Miss Tsoumas is survived by a sister Aphrodite Tsoumas of Lowell; two sisters-in-law Tessia Tsoumas of Lowell and Pauline Tsoumas of Boston; three nephews John G. Tsoumas of Boston, John T. Tsoumas and Peter Tsoumas both of Lowell; two nieces Angelica Fergusson and her husband Bruce of Edmonds, WA, and Demetra McDonough and her husband Kevin of Arlington.
    
She was also the sister of the late Rev. Dr. George Tsoumas, the late Vasiliki Tsoumas and the late Theodore Tsoumas.

TSOUMAS – In Lowell, April. 13, 2011, at Saints Medical, Mary Tsoumas, 92, of Lowell. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST, LOWELL from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday. Her funeral will take place from the funeral home Tuesday morning at 10:30 o’clock followed by a Funeral service at the TRANSFIGURATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH AT 11:30 o’clock. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery. Those wishing may make contributions in her memory to the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Fr.
