 Kathleen H. “Kay” Curran, 79, a lifelong resident of the Acre section of the City, died Tuesday morning at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 16, 1931, the daughter of the late Timothy J. and the late Helen T. (Fitzgerald) Curran, she attended St. Patrick Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Patrick Girl’s High School.
 Kay worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middlesex County Registry of Deeds in Lowell for over 35 years as a Clerk until her retirement in 1985.
 Active with her parish, she was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick Church and a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality.
 Kay’s passion was Irish heritage, history and family genealogy. She spent countless hours researching generations of Irish families and shared this information with family and friends.
 She was also a member of the Retired State, County and Municipal Employee Association.
 Kay is survived by her beloved cousins Muriel Haggerty of Lowell, Ursula Shanahan of Lowell, Theresa Lally of Lowell, Edward Shanahan of Lowell, Mary Jo Sudol and her husband Stephen of Dracut and Susan Jones and her husband John and their daughter Molly B. Jones all of East Aurora, NY; and a dear friend James Elias of Lowell.
 She was also the sister of the late Geraldine T. Curran.
 
CURRAN – In Lowell, May 3, 2011, at Saints Medical, Kathleen H. “Kay” Curran of Lowell. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday. Her Funeral Mass will follow at ST. PATRICK CHURCH at 1:30 P.M.
