Margaret A. (O’Loughlin) Sousa
Margaret A. (O’Loughlin) Sousa, 82, of Westford, and a member of a large Greater Lowell family, died Saturday at the Heritage Manor in Lowell. She was the wife of the late John C. Sousa who died February 17, 2008.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, April 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Arthur and the late MaryEllen (Brady) O’Loughlin, she attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and was a graduate of Lowell High School where she received a Certificate of Achievement for the Palmer Method of Rapid Handwriting.
The mother of nine, Mrs. Sousa loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters JoAnne Courtemarche and her husband Fred of Pepperell, Margaret Pomerleau and her husband Michael of Pepperell, Deborah Sousa of Westford and Carol Sousa of Westford; three sons Dennis M. Sousa of Brookline, NH, Kevin A. Sousa and his wife Kimberly of Hillsborough, NC and Arthur J. Sousa of Westford; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also mother of the late John C. Sousa who died in 1984 and the late MaryEllen Sousa who died in 2010.
The youngest of eight children, Mrs. Sousa was the last surviving sibling of her generation.
