Robert P. “Bambi” Nangle, 62, a member of a well known Lowell family, died Sunday morning, May 29th at D’Youville Senior Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol A. (Soucy) Nangle who died April 8, 2008.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, August 30, 1948, the son of the late Bernard V. and the late Rose M. (Cox) Nangle, Bob attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1966.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as an Equipment Installer for Verizon for over 40 years.
A lifelong member, longtime Board Member and Past President of the Longmeadow Golf Club in Lowell, Bambi, as he was known to his family and friends, was an active member of everything Long Meadow. In addition, he was Past President of the Long Meadow Golf Scholarship Committee and was a longtime representative for Long Meadow to the Greater Lowell City Golf Tournament.
Bambi loved the game of golf, Long Meadow and the many friendships he made through golf.
A former high school basketball referee for many years, he was also a past and only two term President of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials.
He also enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Nangle is survived by two daughters Laurie N. King and her husband Thomas of Lowell and Kelly A. Nangle of Lowell; a son Michael R. Nangle and his wife Jennifer of Hudson, NH; two granddaughters Jillian Nangle and Kendall Nangle; four grandsons Thomas King, Sean King, Colin King and Owen King; three sisters Marylou Marcotte and her husband Gary, Rosemary Bubanas and her husband Evans and Kathleen Witts and her husband Michael all of Lowell; two brothers Bernard Nangle and his wife Diane of Haverhill and Philip Nangle and his wife Elaine of Lowell; father in-law, Andre B. Soucy and many nieces, nephews. and cousins.
Lastly, we are very thankful to the dedicated staff at D'Youville Senior Care for the many years of compassion and care they provided to Bambi.

NANGLE - In Lowell, May 29, 2011, at D'Youville Senior Care, Robert P. “Bambi” Nangle, 62, of Lowell, husband of the late Carol A. (Soucy) Nangle. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 2 to 8 P.M. Thursday. His Funeral Mass will be held Friday morning at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH at 10 o'clock.
