WILLIAM C. FITZGERALD
Retired electrical engineer
William C. Fitzgerald, 72, of North Billerica, died Thursday, June 9th at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann P. (Richards) Fitzgerald who died May 30, 2004. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, October 7, 1938, the son of the late James and the late Eileen (O’Neil) Fitzgerald, he attended Chelsea schools. He then went on to graduate from Northeastern University with an Associate’s Degree in electrical engineering. Before retiring, he was employed as an Electrical Engineer with Varian Vacuum Systems in Lexington for over 18 years. He served in the U.S. Navy as an electronics’ technician from 1956 to 1962 with Patrol Squadron # 8. Mr. Fitzgerald is survived by two daughters Ellen Doherty-Malo and her husband Marc of Chelmsford, MA and Carol Forgione and her husband Joseph of Brewster, MA; a son William C. Fitzgerald, Jr. and his wife Christie Dockman of Bristol, CT; eight grandchildren; a sister Mary Fitzgerald of Peabody, MA; two brothers Thomas Fitzgerald of Peabody, MA and John “Buddy” Fitzgerald of Chelsea, MA; and many nieces and nephews. Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
