hello : so sorry to hear about your dad . my name is rick desmarais , i first met your dad around 1970-71 when he worked at bedford auto parts. your dad was the person who taught me everything there was to know about the auto industry .. when he was asked to teach me how to work the counter the one thing he taught me was to look up the part for the car/truck and then double check to make sure you looked it up right .. ( he taught me well ) i left bedford before him and went to work in billerica ( 22 years there and 8 in bedford ) but for those 30 something years i did as he taught me with great success .. your dad was a good teacher / mentor .. lost touch with him when he went to work in n.h. , but never stopped thinking about him .. don't know if you remember this or not , but when you lived on steadman street and you had your horse ( remember ? ) the horse chewed the paint off the roof and side panels of your dad"s new plymouth ( 1972 ) .. bought that car new at gould motors , bedford .. your dad showed everybody the chew marks on the car at the parts store ( was funny at the time ) your dad didn't think so .... but we did .. right down to bear metal .. and when he went over the handle bars of the dirt bike , he came to work with casts on both arms / wrists ,you should have seen him trying to work the catalogs and the cash register , took a lot of ribbing from everyone ( but he was a good sport about it ) again i am sorry to hear about your dad .. i hope you all have fond memories of him and your time together ,, he was a good person and will be missed .. sincerly rick desmarais
