John Mavraides
Former Co Founder and Owner of Astreon Corp.
John Mavraides, 83, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of the City and a member of a well known Lowell family, died Sunday morning at Willow Manor Nursing Home in Lowell.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, September 4, 1927, the son of the late Stavros and the late Sophie (Delaris) Mavraides, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1946.
Prior to his retirement, he was the Co Founder and Co Owner, with his brother, of Astreon Corporation, an electrical and mechanical components company in Lowell. Previously, he was an Assistant Manager at Scott’s Hardware for many years.
John is survived by his sister Effie Mavraides of Lowell; a brother Christos Mavraides of Lowell; and a nephew Chris Mavraides, Jr. of Boca Raton, FL.
He was also the brother of the late Aristomenis, the late George, the late Amelia, the late Louise, the late Kiki, the late Pota, the late William and the late Marino “Murph” Mavraides.

His Funeral Service will follow at the TRANSFIGURATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH at 11 o’clock. Committal Services will be private.
