Victor M. Mercado, Jr.

Victor M. Mercado, 47, of Providence, Rhode Island, and formerly of Lowell, died Saturday, July 30th in Lawrence.
Born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, July 30, 1964, the son of Victor M. Mercado, Sr. of Lowell and the late Candida (Maldonado) Mercado, he received his education in Lowell Public Schools.
Until illness forced his retirement, Victor was an Owner/Operator Truck Driver who traveled all over the United States during his career.
Among his many interests, he mostly cherished spending time with his family. He had a passion for horses and photography. According to family members, he was extremely handy with tools of every kind and liked restoring old homes and cars.
Besides his father, Victor is survived by a daughter Krystal Mercado of Lowell; a son Victor M. Mercado, III of Lowell; two grandchildren; four sisters Rachel Castro and her husband George of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Elizabeth Mercado of Lowell, Lourdes Mercado of Cleveland, OH and Cathy Mercado of Lowell; three brothers José Mercado and his wife Melissa of Pepperell, MA, Carlos Mercado and his wife Kerrie of Pepperell. MA and Wilfredo Mercado of Lowell; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also brother of the late Juan E. Mercado.

MERCADO – In Lawrence, July 30, 2011, Victor M. Mercado, Jr., 47, of Providence, RI and formerly of Lowell. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST, LOWELL from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH (Lower Church) in Lowell at 10 o’clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
