Julia Rivera Diaz, R.N., 72, of Lowell, died Thursday morning, August 4th at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Lowell.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, June 19, 1939, she received her early education in Caguas public schools and then went on to graduate from the University of Puerto Rico-Piedras with a degree in nursing and became a Registered Nurse.
Before retiring, Julia was employed as a Registered Nurse at the V.A. Medical Center in East Orange, New Jersey for many years.
Being the Family Matriarch, she loved spending time with her family and traveled extensively to and from Puerto Rico to be with family and friends. Considered to be an extremely happy and friendly person, she was always the life of the party. She also had a passion for flowers.
Julia is survived by a daughter Bermaliz Figueroa of Lowell; two granddaughters Glorivee Alamo and Bermaliz Berrios both of Lowell; a grandson Jonathan Berrios of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday. Her Funeral Service will immediately follow in the Funeral Home at 11:30 o’clock.
