Loving Husband, Father and Pepa

 
 Luis Diaz-Echarry, 66, of Lowell, died Monday, August 8th at his home after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mariana (Morales) Diaz with whom he would have celebrated 41 years of marriage in October of this year. 
 Born in Las Pińa, Juncos, Puerto Rico, January 15, 1945, the son of the late Luis Diaz Miranda and the late Juana Echarry Toledo, he received his early education in the Las Pińa, Juncos, Puerto Rico school system.
 Luis was employed as a heavy truck driver for Paloma Commercial Industries in Paloma Comerio, Puerto Rico for many years. Luis moved to Lowell in 1969 and was employed by Pellon Corporation and Lowell General Hospital prior to his retirement.
 Being all about family, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Among his many activities, he enjoyed playing the guitar.
 Besides his loving wife Mariana, Mr. Diaz is survived by two daughters Nancy Diaz of Bronx, NY and Rebecca Diaz of Lowell; five sons Samuel Diaz of New York, NY, Luis Diaz and his wife Mildred of Loiza, Puerto Rico, Angel Diaz and his wife Kimbley of Dracut, David Diaz and his wife Ana Violeta of Lowell and Alex Diaz of Lowell; twelve grandchildren Nicky Ortiz, Taisha Ortiz, Yajaira Alvarez, Orlando Alvarez, Nachary Clemente, Mirious Diaz, Luis Diaz, Joshua Diaz, Eliana Diaz, David Diaz, Jr., Nisahra Brown and Izaiah Bermudez; five great-grandchildren Leann, Nathalie, Nathen, Jeremiah and Leyla; three sisters Gertrude Diaz of Juncos, Puerto Rico, Maria Amaro and her husband José of Lowell and Ana Diaz of Lowell; an uncle Santos Diaz of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
 Luis was also brother of the late Marcial Diaz and nephew of the late Julia Echarry.
 
DIAZ-ECHARRY – In Lowell, August 8, 2011, at his home, Luis Diaz-Echarry, 66, of Lowell, beloved husband of Mariana (Morales) Diaz. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday. His funeral will take place from the funeral home Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock followed by a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home at 10:30 o’clock. Burial in Westlawn II Cemetery.
