PHILIP R. TULLY

 

Loving son, brother, uncle and godfather

 

    Philip Robert Tully, the beloved son of B. Joseph Tully and the late Annette (Chouinard) Tully, died on August 16th at Fairhaven Healthcare Center.
     Mr. Tully was born in Lowell on September 10, 1956. He then moved to Dracut as a child and graduated from Dracut High School, where he played golf for Coach Harry Greaves. After graduating from Essex Agricultural Institute, he opened his own landscaping business until he went to work for the State Treasurer’s Office.
     Phil had a great love of the ocean and all things nautical. In his younger days, he could be found most weekends surfing off the coast of Rye Beach with his good friend John Meehan. He also collected model clipper ships and ocean photography. Phil spent his later years on Plum Island before moving to Salisbury Beach.  He also had a great sense of humor and was particularly adept at puns.
     In addition to his beloved father, he is survived by two sisters and one brother: Sharon E. Tully of Dracut, Jo-Ann Tully Keegan and her husband John of Lowell, and their children, James Tully Keegan, his godson and Kristina Ann Keegan; his brother Joseph R. Tully of Dracut.  He is also survived by his companion of many years, Maureen Beede; several aunts, uncles and many cousins.  In addition to his beloved mother, he was predeceased by his godparents, Lucille and Robert Lacourse.

TULLY – In Lowell, August 16, 2011, at Fairhaven Healthcare Center, Philip Robert Tully, of Salisbury, MA, beloved son of B. Joseph Tully.  There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass to be celebrated on Monday morning August 22nd, at St. Marguerite D’Youville Parish – Ste. Therese Church, Lakeview Ave., Dracut, MA at 11 o’clock. Committal Services will be private.
