Maria Ferreira

Maria (Silva) Ferreira, 95, of the Highlands Section of the City for many years, died Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Americo Ferreira who died February 15, 1999.
Born in Lowell, November 22, 1915, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and the late Maria Silva, she received her education in the Lowell school system.
Before retiring, Maria was employed as a Customer Service Representative with Nu-Knit Manufacturing Company in Lowell for many years.
Active with her church, she was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Lowell where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and a life member of the Holy Ghost Society.
Mrs. Ferreira is survived by two daughters Sandra A. Ferreira of Lowell and Jacqueline A. Caron and her husband Robert of Lowell; twin sons Gary J. Ferreira and his wife Judith of Lowell and Cary J. Ferreira and his wife Michelle of North Reading; a granddaughter Jennifer Jansen and her husband William of Haverhill, MA; four grandsons Robert A. Caron, Jr. of Lowell, Gary J. Ferreira, Jr. and his wife Meredith of Chelmsford, MA, Michael Ferreira and his wife Meghan of Lowell and Daniel Ferreira and his wife Beth of Windham, NH; and five great-grandchildren Nicholas Caron, Aurora Ferreira, Callista Ferreira, Jackson Ferreira and Gavin Ferreira.

Private Funeral Services took place at ST. ANTHONY’S CHURCH in Lowell on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. Those wishing may make contributions in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/ Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
