 Arthur Courchaine, 85, of Lowell, died Thursday, October 6th at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Berube) Courchaine who survives him.
 Born in Pepperell, Massachusetts, March 11, 1926, the son of the late Fred F.L. and the late Diana (Labbe) Courchaine, he received his education in the Pepperell school system.
 A veteran of World War II, Mr. Courchaine served in the United States Navy aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Moffett.
 Before retiring, he worked as a Butcher in Boston for many years. Previously, he was a truck driver with Werner Enterprises in Boston. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 25 in Boston. After retirement, he worked in Security & Safety with the Lowell Housing Authority.
 Among his many interests, Mr. Courchaine loved fishing, cooking, going to the beach and camping, especially at his camp at Tuxbury Pond Campground in South Hampton, New Hampshire. He was also a member of the Club Passé-Temps in Lowell. He took great pride in spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
 Besides his wife Irene, he is survived by six daughters Susan Mills of ME, Lynn Ouellette and her husband David of Lowell, Maureen LeClair and her husband Dan of Nashua, Doreen Gill and her husband Bob of Chelmsford, Kathleen Courchaine of Haverhill, MA and Tracy Courchaine of Lowell; two sons James Courchaine of AZ and Peter Courchaine of Hookset, NH; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; five sisters Olive Brown of N. Chelmsford, Dolores Verloove of Tyngsboro, Katherine Boule of Nashua, Valerie Shea of VT and Marlene Beauchesne and her husband Paul of New Boston, NH; four brothers Leo Courchaine and his wife Agnes of CA, Robert Courchaine of Lowell, Kenneth Courchaine of VA and Raymond Courchaine of FL; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
 He was also predeceased by his former wife Ruth H. (Monagle) Courchaine and his brothers Roland Courchaine, Gerald Courchaine and Ronald Courchaine.
 
COURCHAINE – In Lowell, Oct. 6, 2011, at home, Arthur Courchaine, 85, beloved husband of Irene H. (Berube) Courchaine. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST, LOWELL from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday. His funeral will take place from the funeral home Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock followed by a Funeral Mass at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
