Dorothy E. Iverson
Dorothy E. (Anderson) Iverson, 91, formerly of Nashua, NH and Waukegan, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 9th at Saints Medical Center in Lowell in the company of her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John M. Iverson who died December 30, 1978. Born in Kewanee, Illinois, May 1, 1920, the daughter of the late Emil and the late Harriet (Wheeler) Anderson she received her early education in the Kewanee school system. She then went on to attend the Chicago Business School where she earned a Certificate in Accounting. She lived in Waukegan, Illinois before moving to Nashua upon her retirement. Mrs. Iverson was employed as a Bookkeeper in the Accounting Department at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Illinois until her retirement in 1975. She was a 60 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Matthew Thornton Chapter in Nashua. She was also a member of many other fraternal clubs during her lifetime. Among her many interests, Mrs. Iverson enjoyed knitting, photography and coin collecting. She loved traveling with her husband John and travelled extensively, especially aboard cruise ships. Her strongest interest was her lifelong devotion to her many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is survived by a niece Laurie I. Murphy and her husband David of Lowell; a nephew Paul J. Iversen of Acton, MA; two sisters-in-law Grace Iverson of Lowell and Betty Iverson of Warwick, RI; many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and her dear friends Michael and Karen Perrone of Antioch, IL. It being her wishes, there will be no calling hours and Funeral Services will be held privately.
