Dear Uncle Bill and cousins Patrice, Pamela, and John, I am truly sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Auntie Ethel was one of the most joyous people I have ever known. Ever since I was a small child, I looked forward to visiting my cousins in Pelham and later my uncle and aunt in their home in Lowell, for visiting with the Merritts is always just fun. Some of my best memories are of Ethel and her joyful laughter and her determination that everyone was going to have fun whether they wanted to or not. I certainly had fun with Auntie Ethel--everywhere I went with her, she seemed to know everyone.I remember one winter evening – I don't know why I was visiting in winter, but I was – when she and Brenda and I went out and hit some of the pubs in downtown Lowell. I remember having a rollicking good time. And I will always remember Ethel and her special way of enjoying life. God bless all of you. Uncle Bill and my cousins. I hope to see you all soon and regret that I couldn't make it back this year see all of you one more time. My prayers and my family's prayers are with you. God bless you all.

Dear Bill & Family - I'm a part of the VB/Aquarius vacation family. I was just a young girl when I met you & Ethel. 30 years later, what I clearly remember was Ethel's (and Bill's) ability to make people laugh. I also always admired her outgoing personality along with her caring & kind nature. Upon arriving at the Aquarius each year we all eagerly awaited the arrival of Bill & Ethel. I'm so sorry for your loss. Wishing you all peace & comfort. Sincerely, Kelly Van De Kreeke Stauber, Sheboygan WI (Chuck & Nancy's daughter)
