Bass River, Cape Cod, formerly of Lowell

Mrs. Violet (Rigoli) Leighton, age 71, long time resident of Bass River, Cape Cod and the Belvidere Section of Lowell died on Saturday, October 15, 2011.

She was the widow of the late Robert H. Leighton who passed away in 1995.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, August 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Carmelo and the late Josephine (Milano) Rigoli.

She is survived by her son Robert, Jr. and his wife Margaret (Downing) and their children, Andrew, David and Matthew of Lowell; a daughter, Elizabeth Britt and her children, William, Lauren, and Alex of Yarmouthport. MA; her son Douglas Leighton and his wife Ilana (Howland) and their children, Reef and Ella of Boston; and her brother Charles Rigoli and his wife Nellie of Methuen.
