Francis M. “Mickey” Carney, 73, of Lowell, died Friday morning at his home.
   Born In Lowell, Massachusetts, January 28, 1938, the son of the late John F. and the late Mary Etta (Flanagan) Carney, he attended St. Patrick’s Grammar School.
   Prior to his retirement, Mickey worked for several years with City Cab in Lowell. Previously, he worked for the City of Lowell Ashes and Waste Department in trash removal.
   Among his many interests, he enjoyed spending time with his family, his dogs and cats and following all the New England sports teams.
   Mickey is survived by a sister Barbara Hannifin and her companion George MacShane of Lowell; a brother John P. Carney of Methuen; his beloved seven nieces and nephews; many grandnieces and grandnephews.
   He was also the brother of the late Lawrence Carney and the late James Carney.
   The members of Mickey’s family would also like to thank the staff of the Gretaer Lowell VNA for the outstanding care and comfort they extended to him during his illness.

His Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock followed by his Funeral Mass at ST. PATRICK CHURCH at 10 o’clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
