Edward F. Hansbury, 80, of Chelmsford, a member of a widely known Greater Lowell family, died Thursday evening at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Sabina J. (Golas) (Bosselman) Hansbury with whom recently celebrated on November 20th 2011 his 41st wedding anniversary.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 8, 1931, the son of the late Frank C. Hansbury and the late Dorothy L. (Gendron) (Hansbury) Kapala, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Keith Academy Class of 1949.
A graduate of Merrimack College in 1953, Ed received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.
Prior to his retirement, Ed was a Production Control Supervisor with Raytheon Corporation where he worked for over 35 years.
A longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Golf Club, Ed was also a member of the Billerica Knights of Columbus Fr. Wren Council # 3963.
A good man, Ed enjoyed golf and was well liked by all who knew him and had a large circle of friends. Later in life, he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was also the husband of the late Veronica A. (DeSaulnier) Hansbury who died in March of 1970.
Besides his wife Sabina, Ed is survived by eight children Dennis E. Hansbury of Tyngsboro, Mary Jo Santiago and her husband Luis of Lowell, Harry M. Bosselman and his wife Nancy of Hudson, NH, Steven E. Bosselman and his wife Peggy of Huntington Beach, CA, John J. Hansbury and his wife Linda of Chelmsford Elaine M. Noonan and her husband Mark of Braintree, Janet A. Connell of Tyngsboro and Donna M. Abely and her husband David of Westford; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his brother –in law Robert Henry of Chelmsford; his daughter-in-law Ellen F. Hansbury; several nieces and nephews; and two dear friends Edward Early of Lowell and Mitchell Wojcik of Chelmsford.
He was the brother of the late Eleanor Henry and father-in-law of the late Mark Connell.
HANSBURY – In Chelmsford, December 1, 2011, at home, Edward F. Hansbury, beloved husband of Sabina J. (Golas) (Bosselman) Hansbury. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 3 to 8 P.M. Tuesday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Wednesday morning at ST. MARY CHURCH in CHELMSFORD at 9:00 o’clock. Committal Services will be private.
