David Robert Corcoran, TSgt, Retired, USAF, 58, passed away at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC on Monday December 19, 2011. Born June 16, 1953, in Lowell, MA, the son of the late A. Edward Corcoran and the late Mary (Huntington) Corcoran he was educated in the Lowell school system and enlisted in 1972 with the U.S. Air Force at 19 years old. A Veteran of the Vietnam War and the first Gulf War, he retired in 1992 to Myrtle Beach, SC to enjoy the warm weather and beautiful beaches. An avid scuba diver, he went to the beach every clear morning, and said it was a great start to the day. He was a fun loving father that would have done anything for you and his family, and never met a stranger he didn’t like. "Dave" as all of his friends called him is survived by his wife, Anne Corcoran of Myrtle Beach, SC; sons, James Corcoran, an EMT in Wilmington, NC; Joel Corcoran, an Air Force TSgt currently stationed at March ARB in CA; David Corcoran, of AZ; daughter Sandy Corcoran, of KY; sister Francis Fowler of Union, ME; brothers, Fredrick Corcoran of Hudson NH; Joseph Corcoran of Lowell MA; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Patricia Corcoran and the late Edward Corcoran. Funeral Services were held at McMillan & Smalls Funeral Home, 910 67th Ave N. Myrtle Beach, SC 29572 last week. Family and friends will be received for a Memorial Gathering Thursday at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 11:00 to 12:00 o’clock. A Memorial Service will then take place at 12:00 Noon followed by Committal Services at St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.
