Patrice Merritt – McInnis

Beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend
Patrice Merritt-McInnis, 50, a member of a well known Greater Lowell family, died Monday evening, February 13th at her home surrounded by her family following a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, July 5, 1961, the daughter of William F. Merritt of Lowell and the late Ethel P. (Powers) Merritt who died October 10, 2011, she attended Pelham schools and was a graduate of Pelham High School in the Class of 1979. She received an associate’s degree from City University in Seattle, WA
Before illness forced her to stop working, Patrice was a personal trainer and spinning instructor for the YMCA in Richmond, Virginia. In addition, she was a licensed real estate agent in Richmond and formerly a licensed agent in Massachusetts as well.
Always thinking of others, Patrice was a member of CASA, (Court appointed special advocates) which assisted children in need of help within the Richmond community.
An exercise enthusiast, Patrice was very health conscious and encouraged others to be healthy.
She loved listening and sharing music with others and spending as much time as she could with her family and friends.
Patrice was a sweet soul whose presence would light up a room. She was warm, kind and always happy to see you. She, like many, battled her illness with a grace and dignity which lifted those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Besides her father Bill, Patrice is survived by a daughter Meaghan McInnis of Richmond, VA; a son Garin McInnis of Lowell; a sister Pamela Nusbaum and her husband Theodore of Londonderry, NH; a brother John G. Merritt of Derry, NH; two nieces Abigail Nusbaum and Rebeccah Nusbaum; and a nephew Samuel Nusbaum; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins and dear friends.
She was also sister of the late William A. Merritt.

I have fond memories growing up with the Merritt family while they lived on Lucy Ave in Pelham. She was alwasy fun to be around and had a winning smile all the time. Her good natured personality was one of a kind. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy, along with broken hearts and tears of sadness. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Patrice. I havent seen Patrice in decades but I will not forget treasured friendships when I was young. God Bless.
