 Ethel K. Callahan, 104, a lifelong resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Sunday, January 6th at D’Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was the last known survivor of her family.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, July 4, 1908, a daughter of the late George T. and the late Katherine (Roark) Callahan, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1926.
 Before retiring, Ethel was employed as a Service Analyst with New England Telephone (now known as Verizon) in Boston, MA for over 42 years.
 Active in her community, Ethel was a member and past president of the League of Catholic Women, a member of the Merrimack Valley Catholic Charities where she was a board member for 10 years and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was also a longstanding volunteer at Saints Medical Center in Lowell for over 35 years until her retirement when she was 99 years old.
 A lifelong communicant, she was the oldest parishioner of St. Michael Church in Lowell.
 Ethel is survived by her dear friends who were with her until the end, Jan & Bill Hylan and Delores & Bill Green all of Lowell and Liz & Brendon Tarmey of Dracut.
 She was also sister of the late Genevieve A. Callahan, the late Alice L. Callahan, the late Mary S. Callahan and he late George T. Callahan, Jr..
 
CALLAHAN – In Lowell, Jan. 6, 2013, at D’Youville Senior Care, Ethel K. Callahan, 104, of Lowell. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday. Her funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Thursday morning at 9 o’clock followed by her Funeral Mass at the ST. MICHAEL CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
