Barbara Ann Bailey

      Barbara Ann (Lyons) Bailey, 86, for many years a resident of the Highlands section of the City, died Monday morning at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell.
     She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Bailey with whom she celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on July 24, 2012.
     Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Harry and the late Margaret (Riley) Lyons, Barbara attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1944.
     For most of her career Barbara worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover where she was an accounting technician.
     She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
     A long time communicant of St. Margaret Church, Barbara was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality of her parish.
     Besides her husband, Barbara is survived by her daughter Joyce A. Cote and her husband Ronald of Lowell; a grandson Christopher J. Cote of Boston; a sister-in-law June Connors; and several nieces and nephews.
     She was also the mother of the late Barbara J. Bailey who died in 1991 and sister of the late Arthur Lyons, the late Paul Lyons and the late Harry Lyons.
