Member of a well known Lowell family
Ellen L. Martin, 87, a resident of the Belvidere section of the City, died Tuesday afternoon at the Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Lawrence S. and the late Helen (Bagley) Martin, she attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar school and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1943.
Ellen went on to graduate from the Bradshaw Business School in Lowell.
Prior to her retirement, she served as the Administrative Assistant to the Plant Manager of the Raytheon Corporation in South Lowell for over 37 years.
Ellen was blessed with a loving family of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who are deeply saddened by her passing. She was everyone’s beloved aunt.
She is survived by her sister Mary M. Sayer of Lowell; her brother Lawrence “Larry” Martin and his wife Margaret of Lowell; and a sister-in-law Ruth Martin of Hudson, NH and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Ann Keller, the late Alice Bishop, the late John B. Martin and the late Robert Martin.
There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Thursday morning at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH at 9:30 A.M.
