J. Stephen Mangan

 Beloved husband and father,

             J. Stephen Mangan, 67, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday evening, March 5th at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.  He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Loiselle) Mangan, with whom he would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on April 7th.

            Stephen was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on September 20, 1945 and was the son of the late James and the late Josephine (Gallagher) Mangan.  He attended the Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1963. He went on to graduate from the University of Lowell, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

            Prior to his retirement, Stephen was the Chief Financial Officer of Bixby International Company in Newburyport for many years. Previously, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Towle Manufacturing Company, also in Newburyport.

            Stephen was a wonderful, loving husband and father, who enjoyed spending time with his family.  His keen mind,  sharp wit and good nature made him special to all of us.

            Besides his wife, Geraldine, he is survived by a son, James J. Mangan of Lowell, MA; a daughter

Anne Kelly and her husband David of Watertown, MA; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Agnes and John Mastrogiacomo; his brothers-in-law Dr. Frank Daly, Richard Loiselle and his wife Jeannine, John Loiselle and his wife Elaine and many nieces and nephews. 

     Stephen was also the brother of the late Mary Jo Koza and Ann Denise Daly.

     At his request there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass to be celebrated Saturday at the Immaculate Conception (Lower) Church at 12 o’clock Noon. Committal Services will be private.
