Rita A. Griffin, a resident of Lowell, passed away at her home on Sunday evening, April 14, 2013.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts the daughter of the late John L. and the late Anna J. (Dunlavey) Griffin, she received her early education at Notre Dame Academy in Tyngsboro, Ma. She then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire and then a Master’s Degree in Education also from Rivier College.
Before retiring, Rita taught at the Charlotte Avenue School in Nashua for 37 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held privately on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell. Burial took place in St. Patrick Cemetery.
