 Carol F. Evans, 74, of Pepperell, formerly of the Acre Section of Lowell, died Sunday, April 21st at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, October 5, 1938, the daughter of the late James J. and the late Edna (Ryan) Evans, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1957. She then went on to graduate from the Tewksbury School of Nursing in 1958.
 Before retiring, Carol was a Licensed Practical Nurse with the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Lowell (VNA) for 35 years. Previously, she was employed by the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell.
 Very active with her church, she was a proud lifetime communicant of St. Patrick Church in Lowell where she was also a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality and ran the weekly bingos. She was affectionately known as “the Sarge.”
 Among her many activities, Carol was a past chairperson of St. Patrick’s Irish Cultural Committee where she was Irish Person of the Year in 2012, a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 1 and a member of the American Legion Post #87 Ladies Auxiliary.
 Carol especially enjoyed traveling with family and friends, in particular her trips to Ireland where she visited her grandmother’s family home on Galway Bay.
 Carol is survived by a daughter Karen Evans-Witts and her husband Paul of Pepperell; two grandchildren Ryan P. and Ashlyn M. Witts both of Pepperell; a sister Phyllis Panagiotareas of Lowell; a brother Brendan J. Evans and his wife Judith of Chelmsford; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
 She was also sister of the late Rita Totton and the late Ann Gacek.
 
EVANS – In Merrimack, NH, April 21, 2013, at Community Hospice House, Carol F. Evans, 74, of Pepperell, formerly of Lowell. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 3 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday. Her Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home Thursday morning at 9 o’clock followed by a Funeral Mass at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
