Margaret B. “Peg” McAndrews

 
 Margaret B. “Peg” (Howe) McAndrews, 71, formerly of the Acre section of Lowell, died Wednesday morning, May 29th at Lowell General Hospital.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 4, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and the late Anna L. (McDonough) Howe, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of the Lowell High School in the Class of 1959. She later attended and was a graduate St. Joseph’s School of Nursing.
 Peg started her career with Wang Labs and Getronics (now known as CompuCom) where she worked for over 35 years, finishing as an Information Security Manager.
 She was incredibly active in several civic, religious and charitable organizations throughout the City.
 Peg was a proud member of St. Patrick Irish Cultural Committee and served as Chairperson for two years. She was also Chairperson of the 175th Anniversary of St. Patrick Church and enlightened many people about the struggles of the Irish people and her vast knowledge of Irish history.
 In addition, she was on the Board of Directors for the Merrimack Valley Catholic Charities and a member of the Cultural Organization of Lowell (COOL).
 A lifelong member of St. Patrick Church, Peg was Treasurer of the St. Patrick Blessed Virgin Sodality for over fifteen years and served as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing the Eucharist to housebound parishioners.
 Peg is survived by her daughters Virginia “Dedi” McAndrews and her companion Gary Spring, Michaelanne M. Ryan and her husband Bob Ryan and Kristine A. McAndrews all of Lowell; a son Mark P. McAndrews of St Charles, MO. and his companion Dr. Natalie Bolton; three grandsons Jonathan P. Ryan and Michael R. Ryan both of Lowell and Alejandro P. McAndrews of St. Charles, MO; a granddaughter Mikaela A. Therrien of Lowell; a sister Barbara Scagos and her husband William of Largo, FL; a brother Michael Howe and his wife Carolyn of Lowell; two sisters-in-law Frances Howe and Barbara Mulligan  both of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
 She was also the sister of the late Joseph J. Howe and John J. Howe and former wife of the late Michael P. McAndrews.
 The members of the McAndrews family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to Dr. Ardman and the staff of the Infusion Room at the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Care Center for the personal care, concern and comfort they gave their mother during her illness.

Her Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home Monday morning at 9 o’clock followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in Lowell at 10 o’clock.
