Sherman F. Ross

 
     Sherman F. Ross, 90, of Billerica, died Friday July 19, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus after a brief illness.
     He was the husband of the late Rita J. (Parquette) Ross who died June 14, 1994.
Born in Billerica, Massachusetts, July 19, 1923, the son of the late Thomas H. and the late Catherine M. (Halloran) Ross, he attended Billerica Schools and was a graduate of Howe High School in the Class of 1941.
     A veteran of World War II, Sherman was a proud member of the U.S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S.Yorktown and was awarded a Presidential Citation, the WWII Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic – Pacific Area Campaign Ribbon (with 11 Bronze stars).
     Following the war, he worked for County Painting in Dedham and later at Princeton Park apartments for many years.
     Sherman is survived by two sons Sherman P. Ross and his Late Wife Marie of New Hampton, NH and Mark R. Ross of Billerica; three Grandsons S Patrick Ross, Peter Ross, and Tyler Ross; four step grandchildren Josh Corman, Marina MacDonald, Meghan Pluimer and Erin Watson; along with three great-grand Children and six step great-grandchildren. 
 He was also the brother of the late Raymond Ross and the late Harold Ross.
