John J. McCarron

Retired Probation Officer Ayer District Court;

 John J. McCarron, 81, a member of a well known Greater Lowell family, died peacefully Sunday afternoon surrounded by his loving family
  He was the beloved husband of Mary H. (Diaz) McCarron, who survives him, and with whom he celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
  Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 12, 1932, the son of the late James J. and the late Mary Jane ((McCann) McCarron, he attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and was a graduate of Keith Academy with the Class of 1950.
  John received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Merrimack College in 1957.
  A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy in logistics in Miramar, San Diego, CA.
  Prior to his retirement, John was a Probation Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Ayer District Court for over 18 years. Previously, he worked for the Raytheon Corporation for many years.
  Among his many interests, John was a Troop leader with the Boy Scouts Troop 22, an avid Boston sports fan but he most enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
  Besides his wife, John is survived by ten children John J. McCarron, Jr. and his wife Salome of Lowell, Stephen E. McCarron and his wife Shannon of Lowell, Timothy K. McCarron and his wife Joanne of Chelmsford, Laura A. Boucher and her husband Mark of Epping, NH, Edward T. McCarron of Fitchburg, Kevin M. McCarron of Lowell, Lisa C. Sousa and her husband Brian of Dunstable, Kenneth A. McCarron of Lowell, Elaine M. Shirley and her husband Gregg of Londonderry, NH and Neil P. McCarron of Lowell; 21 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy A. Duggan of Chelmsford and Virginia Gregoire of Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother Thomas J. McCarron and his wife Jenny of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
  He was the brother of the late Mary Murphy, the late Felix McCarron and the late James J. McCarron, Jr.
  There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Wednesday morning at ST.MARGARET CHURCH at 9:30 a.m. o’clock.  Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.  E-condolences/directions at odonnellfuneralhome.com.
