 Muriel J. (Coburn) McCarron, 96, of Lowell, died Friday, December 20th at the Palm Center in Chelmsford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur W. McCarron who died December 5, 1975.
 Born in Shirley, Massachusetts, June 24, 1917, the daughter of the late John F. and the late Gertrude (Day) Coburn, she attended the Laura A. White Elementary School in Shirley and was a graduate of Ayer High School. She then went on to graduate from the former Convalescent Hospital for Children as a Governess.
 Before retiring, Muriel was employed as a Telephone Operator with New England Telephone (now known as Verizon) for over 29 years.
 Muriel was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret Church in Lowell. She was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality for over 50 years. She was also a member the Poor Clair Guild.
 Among her many enjoyments, she was an avid reader but most of all loved spending quality time with her family and friends.
 Muriel is survived by a sister Jacqueline Scopelliti of Leominster, MA; a brother-in-law William S. Gutkowski, Sr. of Fitchburg, MA; her nieces and nephews William S. Gutkowski, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Lowell, MA, Patricia Coleman and her husband Andrew of Tyngsboro, MA, Eunice McCarron of Kingston, MA and Peter McCarron and his wife Diane of Marshfield, MA.
 She was also sister of the late Vera Gutkowski and sister-in-law of the late John Scopelliti.
 Muriel’s family would like to thank the staff, nurses and doctors at Palm Center for the excellent care that she received while a resident there. The kindness and compassion of so many individuals not only provided skilled and professional care to Muriel, but also supported the family during a very difficult time. The family is eternally grateful.
 Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 2 to 5 P.M. Sunday. Her Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home Monday morning at 8:30 o’clock followed by her Funeral Mass at ST. MARGARET CHURCH in Lowell at 9:30 o’clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
