 Elides E. "Betty" Otero, 54, of Lowell, died Friday morning at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.
  Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, November 30, 1959, the beloved daughter of Efran and Elides (Colon) Otero, she attended Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Waukegan High School in Waukegan, Illinois. She went on to attend Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.
  A member of the U. S. Army for two tours, Betty was honorably discharged in 1985.
  Previously, she had worked at Raytheon Corporation in South Lowell.
  Betty had many interests in her life, none greater than spending time with her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren.
  An avid football fan, she was a loyal New Orleans Saints supporter. She also enjoyed cribbage, reading, trips to Foxwoods and lunch on Tuesdays with her friends.
  Besides her parents, Betty is survived by her daughter Alexandria Santiago of Lowell; two granddaughters Orin and Lyla Futrell; two sisters Evelyn Y. Otero and Celia B. Otero both of Lowell; three brothers Winters Otero and his wife Jody of Lowell, Walter E. Otero and Wayne O. Otero both of Lowell; her goddaughter Courtney Otero of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
  She was also the sister of the late Waldo S. Otero.
 Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher for her Memorial Visitation from 3 to 7 P.M. Thursday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass to be celebrated Saturday morning at ST. FRANCIS CHURCH in Dracut at 9 o’clock. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. E-condolences/directions at
