Richard E. “Rick” Maloney, 62, of Andover, a former local business owner, passed away Friday January 17th at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
 
He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Kokinos) Maloney with whom he recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on October 19, 2013.
 
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, May 6, 1951, the son of Betty Marie (Buttner) Maloney of Tewksbury and the late Albert J. Maloney. He attended Tewksbury schools and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School in the Class of 1969. He went on to attend U/Mass Lowell.
 
The former owner and operator of Conlon’s Liquors in Lowell and later Searstown Liquors in Leominster for many years, Rick more recently worked as a Merchandiser for Red Box for several years.
 
Rick was all about family but also enjoyed golf with his friends in the Wilderness Golf League at Campbell’s Scottish Highlands in Pelham and was an avid Patriot’s fan.
 
In addition to his wife and mother, Rick is survived by his son Jonathan R. Maloney and his wife Jenna of Reading, his daughter Heather A. Maloney of Orlando; his brother Stephen A. Maloney and his wife Donna of Stoneham and his sister Barbara M. Maloney of Tewksbury; and several nieces and nephews.
 
Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME – 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 7 P.M. Tuesday. His Funeral Services will be private.
