Joseph Zaher, 81

 
 Joseph Lewis Zaher, 81, a former resident of Lowell, died peacefully Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, MA.
 Mr. Zaher was born Oct. 29, 1932 in Lowell, MA to the late Lewis M. and the late Naema (Saab) Zaher.
 He graduated from Lowell High School and later served two years active duty in the U. S. Navy.
 Joseph worked for several years at the Lowell Sun as a Linotype machinist. He later worked as a shipper for 19 years at BASF in Burlington, MA.
 He was an active Duckpin bowler, YMCA handball player, and challenge square dancer.
 Joseph is survived by his sister Jenny Yeroshefsky of Hyattsville, MD and his sister Ethel Habib of West Roxbury, MA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
 He was also the brother of the late Mary R. Galotta, Alice Woods, Thomas Zaher, Mabel Kalil, Florence LaCourture, and Ernie Zaher.
  Relatives and friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 9 to 10:30 AM on Saturday immediately followed by a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home.
