Mary T. Leyden
Mary T. Leyden, of Lowell, died Friday, March 21st at Lowell General Hospital.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, she was the oldest of four children of Irish immigrant parents, the late Martin and the late Mary (Vaughan) Leyden.
She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Eager to further her education, she went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College, a Master’s Degree in Education from University of Massachusetts Lowell and a Master of Business Administration from Riviera College in Nashua.
Mary was employed, for many years, as a Management Analyst with the United States Treasury. She was a former Board Chair of the Association of Government Accountants. She was retired from Lowell High School where she was a teacher and guidance counselor.
Mary is survived by several nieces, nephews, a grandniece and grandnephews.
She was also sister of the late Barbara Cuddy, the late Virginia Toohig and the late Francis Leyden.
In keeping in accordance with her wishes, there were no calling hours and Funeral Services were held privately for her family. Interment took place at St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.
