Mary E. (Armstrong) Theodoros

 
 Mary E. (Armstrong) Theodoros, of Lowell, MA and Hampton NH, age 89, died on May 27, 2014 in Lowell. She was the wife of the late George P. Theodoros, a prominent business man, to whom she was lovingly married for more than 57 years.
 Born in Lowell on April 18, 1925, she was the Daughter of the late Joseph R. Armstrong and Margaret A. (Moloney) Armstrong. She attended St. Peter’s School and graduated from Lowell High School.  She studied drawing at the Lowell Technological Institute before training at Saint John’s Hospital School of Nursing.
 During World War II she worked at Ft. Devens as a nurses’ aide. Later she played a vital role in helping the WWII effort by working as a stitcher at the Lowell Parachute Factory.
 While raising her children, Mary remained active in the community. Her service included membership in the PTA’s of the Morey and Daley Schools and volunteership at the Morey School library. She was a Girl Scout Troup Leader during the 60’s helping many young women earn many scout badges. She was gifted with exceptional artistic talents and creative abilities which she enjoyed teaching to younger generations. In the 80’s she volunteered in the Oncology Department at Saint John’s Hospital (later named Saints’ Memorial). She was a lifetime member of the Ladies of Saint John’s and the League of Catholic Women, and a former member of the Vesper Country Club. She loved Hampton Beach and throughout her life she spent as much time as she could enjoying the salt air and sunshine from her deck and while tending to her stunning flower garden there. She loved music, ballroom dancing, and hostessing gatherings for her family and friends.  She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, especially Tom Brady. Her sparkling blue Irish eyes, big smile and special love will be deeply missed.
 Mary is survived by her 4 devoted children and their spouses, Karin Theodoros, Esq. and husband, Andrew Zaroulis, Esq. of Tewksbury, Patrick Theodoros and wife, Pamela of Lowell, Barbara (Theodoros) King and husband, Paul of Reading, and Christine (Theodoros) Hungate and her husband, Jay, of Lowell.  She is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses: Matt Theodoros and his wife, Molly, Kate Theodoros, Pete Theodoros, Nolan King, Olivia Hungate, Fiona Hungate; four loving siblings and their spouses: Eileen O’Brien,  Margaret Armstrong, Paul Armstrong and his wife, Maureen, and Donna  Armstrong, many deeply loved in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, and her very devoted friends, John and Joanne Parent. She was the oldest sister of Joseph Armstrong, and Rita Armstrong, and the step daughter of Mary Estelle (Stella) (Fahey) Armstrong, all of whom predeceased her and whom she deeply loved and missed.
 Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. from 2 to 6 P.M. Sunday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Monday afternoon at ST.
