Margaret M. “Margie” Turcotte

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother;

Margaret M. “Margie” (Melanson) Turcotte , 87, a member of a well-known Greater Lowell family, died Thursday evening at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the loving wife of Albert A. Turcotte, with whom she celebrated her 62nd wedding anniversary on December 29, 2013.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 11, 1926, the daughter of the late William F. and the late Margaret (Morris) Melanson, she received her education in the Lowell school system.

Margie was a woman of many interests enjoying cooking, shopping, feeding birds, and supporting several charitable organizations.

However, what brought her the greatest joy was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the many children of friends and family who she looked after and babysat through seven decades. She will be deeply missed by all.

Besides her husband, Margie is survived by two sons David A. Turcotte and his wife Margarita Zapata – Turcotte of Lowell and Dean W. Turcotte and his wife Vickie A. of Dracut; five grandchildren Leonor Daley and her husband Patrick of Concord, Jared Turcotte of Lowell; Darlene Turcotte, Danielle Turcotte and Renee Turcotte all of Dracut; three great grandchildren Cameron, Declan and Griffin; her brother and sister in laws Robert Maguire of Daytona Beach, FL, Nancy Melancon of Dunstable and Rita Melancon of Kissimmee, FL; many nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Daniel R. Turcotte and sister of the late Louis F. Melanson, the late Walter R. Melanson, the late Donald “Sonny” Melancon, the late Raymond Melancon, the late Roger Melancon, the late Isabell Casper, the late Helen Maguire and the late Eleanor Dubois.

  Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 2 to 6 P.M. Sunday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated Monday morning at Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Church in DRACUT at 9 o’clock. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.
