U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, of Lowell, 67
 
 Allan A. Kanteles, 67, of Lowell, a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, died Tuesday, July 8th at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus.
 Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, April 22, 1947, a son of the late Arthur and the late H. Eileen (Slatter) Kanteles, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School in the Class of 1965.
 A veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, Allan proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Air Medal with Second Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with V Device and First Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star Medal with V Device and First, Second and Third Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device and the Vietnam Service Medal with Five Bronze Service Stars.
 Before retiring, Allan was co-owner of K’s Variety Store in Lowell.
 Among his many enjoyments, he was an avid sports fan.
 Allan is survived by three brothers Charles Kanteles and his companion Elizabeth Bunker and their son Geoffrey Kanteles all of Bernardston, MA, Christos Kanteles of Pelham, NH and his children Justin Kanteles of Derry, NH and Travis Kanteles, Gregory Kanteles and Mary Kanteles all of Pelham, NH and John Kanteles of Lowell, MA; a sister Diane Teale and her husband Peter and their son Gary Teale all of Cheltenham, England; and many relatives in England and Australia.  
 He was also uncle of the late Leslie Allinson.
