James P. Cronin, Sr.

 
 James P. “Chickie” Cronin, Sr., 71, of Billerica, died Sunday, August 31st at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of Sally E. (Price) Cronin with whom he celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on February 24th of this year.
 Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, September 11, 1942, the son of the late John P. and the late Sabina (Doyle) Cronin, he attended Cambridge schools and was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in the Class of 1961.
 Before retiring, Chickie was employed as a Sales Manager with Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Allston and Lynn, Massachusetts for over 45 years.
 Among his many interests, he enjoyed playing softball and was an avid Boston sports fan. But above all else, he loved spending quality time with his grandchildren.
 In addition to his wife Sally, Chickie is survived by a daughter Karen L. Twombly of Pepperell, MA; three sons Joel P. Freeman and his wife Maureen Montgomery of Lowell, MA, James E. Cronin of Cambridge, MA and James P. Cronin, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Gaithersburg, MD; six grandchildren Robert Montgomery, Amy M. Fernandez, Keri A. Gath, Mark D. Cronin, Michael J. Cronin and Jacob K. Twombly; four great-grandchildren Evan, Ally, Ava and Vince; a sister Eileen Gallison and her husband Stan of Cocoa Beach, FL; a brother-in-law James O’Keefe of Tewksbury, MA; his best friend Buddy Graham of Billerica, MA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
