Eileen (Kennedy) Burgermeister

Beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend

Eileen (Kennedy) Burgermeister, 53, of Lowell and Hampton Beach, a member of a widely known Lowell family, died Sunday morning at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a courageous three year battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, June 2, 1961, the daughter of the late Dr. Arthur P. and the late Rita M. (Hartigan) Kennedy, Eileen was a lifelong communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell.
She attended the Pike School and was a graduate of Concord Academy in the Class of 1979. She went on to graduate from Boston University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She later attained her Masters in Business Administration from Bentley College.
Eileen began her 30 year career as an auditor with Data General. She then joined Lotus Corporation in Financial Management and continued with IBM, after they acquired Lotus as a Senior Financial Manager for over 25 years.
In a remarkable life which had many successes, Eileen's proudest accomplishment was her two children, Joseph and Bridget. A dedicated mother, she was a great supporter of her children's various activities. When not working, Eileen could often be found at the hockey rink, lacrosse field or watching her daughters equestrian events.
A former member of Vesper Country Club and Abenaqui Country Club in Rye, NH, she mostly enjoyed her times at the beach with family and friends.
A bright and vibrant personality, Eileen was loved by many and missed by those who knew her.
Eileen is survived by her son Joseph Michael Burgermeister of Lowell, a Junior at University of Vermont; her daughter Bridget Kennedy Burgermeister of Lowell, a sophomore at Boston College; her brother John “Jed” Kennedy and his wife Caroline of Lowell; her sister Mary Jane Anderson and her husband Russell of Hampton, NH; her nieces and nephews Paul A.
