Beloved father and grandfather;

James E. Gianatasio, 69, of Lowell, died Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Heritage Nursing Center in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Julie J. (Hogan) Gianatasio who died in 1997.
Born in Massachusetts, November 25, 1944, the son of the late Edward and the late Laura Gianatasio, he received his education in the Chelsea School system.
Jim spent most of his life as a recycler in the scrap metal business.
A friendly person by nature he enjoyed reading, walking and meeting people. He was all about family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his daughter Sandra Snelders of Lowell; his grandchildren Shannon MacNeill of Lowell, Brandon Jenkinson and his wife Amanda of Rowley, Eric Jenkinson of Danvers, Robert Snelders, Leah Snelders and Krystal Snelders all of Lowell; five grandchildren Lorrianna, Jacob Thomas, Sophia, Camdyn and Alexis; and several nieces and nephews.
