Aristea S. (Speronis) Halkedis

Beloved sister and aunt;

Aristea S. (Speronis) Halkedis, 81, of New York City, but formerly of Lowell, Massachusetts died Saturday morning at her home with family and friends by her side.

She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Halkedis.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, March 25, 1933, the daughter of the late Louis S. and the late Katherine (Theodoracakou) Speronis, she attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.

Aristea went to attend the Boston School of Design where she was awarded three honors for her fashion design.

Among her many interests, Aristea loved to travel, fashion, politics and pursuing cultural exploration.

She was a member of the Greek Women’s National Organization and was active with the Republican Party.

Aristea is survived by her brother Peter Speronis of South Carolina; two sisters Alyce Speronis of Lowell and Helen Speronis of Athens, Greece and Lowell, MA; four nephews Lee and Cathy Speronis of Bangor, ME, James and Kristy Speronis of South Carolina, Ron and Leslie Leounes of Wilmington, Delaware,and Anthony Leones of Chadds Ford, PA; and several grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service Thursday morning at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY in LOWELL at 12 o’clock Noon. Committal Services will be private.
