Siham Khadij Siham (ElKareh) Khadij, 84, of Lowell, died Wednesday, July 29th at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Mansour Khadij who died in 1974.
Born in Beirut, Lebanon, October 15, 1930, a daughter of the late Michael and the late Victoria (Majdalany) ElKareh, she received her education in Beirut schools. She relocated to the United States in 1979. Siham was a lifetime member and very active with St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Lowell where she also served as a choir member. Among her many activities, Siham enjoyed cooking, playing cards, solving puzzles and watching soap operas and game shows on television. She was also an avid New England sports fan, especially of the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. But above all else, being all about family, she cherished the quality time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Siham is survived by two sons Elie Khadij and his wife Kathy of Tampa, FL and Milad Khadij and his wife Vanessa of Florida; two daughters Saide Toubia and her husband Nicolas of Lowell and Eliane Costa and her husband John of Tarpon Spring, FL; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers Sami ElKareh and Riad ElKareh both of Lebanon; a sister Therese Bijani of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late William ElKareh and the late Joseph ElKareh. Friends may call at ST. GEORGE ANTIOCHIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, 44 Bowers St. in Lowell from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday. Her Funeral Service will take place at the church on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Committal Services will be held privately in Westlawn II Cemetery. E-condolences at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
