Joseph Timothy Stagnone, 78, of Plantation, Florida, but formerly of Lowell, died on Monday August 3, 2015 in Florida.

He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, February 1, 1937, the son of
the late Joseph and the late Helen (Finnegan) Stagnone.

Joe was the beloved husband of Margaret Stagnone, devoted and loving father of his children Juanita, Mary (James), Timothy (Andrea) and Suzie. Dear grandfather of Asia, Chloe, Benjamin, Gabrielle, Olivia, and Ava. Dear great-grandfather of Braelynn. Fond step-father of Danelle (Jody) Barksdale and Robert (Melissa) Dykes, and step-grandfather of Britt, Annelise, Connor and Hunter. Dear brother of Lou Stagnone and his wife Shirley of Lowell, Daniel Stagnone and his wife Pat of Hudson, NH, and Frank Stagnone and his wife Tish of Chelmsford and the late James Stagnone. Joe is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Keith Academy in 1955 and President of his Class, Joe was a scholar and star athlete having played Varsity football for 4 years where he also served as Captain of his team. An All State selection in High School, he was later inducted into the Lowell Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame.

He went on to graduate from the College of the Holy Cross, served in the United States Navy, and enjoyed a long and happy career as a teacher and coach at Nova High School in Florida.

During his retirement, Joe was happy spending time with his family, relaxing, and playing golf. His family cherished him and he will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday August 14, 2015 at 10:30 at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4 Street Plantation, FL 33317 954 587-6888. In his memory memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
