Edward Arthur Glasheen, Sr.
Beloved, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend;
Edward Arthur Glasheen Sr., 85, of Seabrook Beach NH and Safety Harbor FL passed away suddenly on August 30, 2015 at his home.
He was the beloved husband and college sweetheart of Barbara M. (Burke) Glasheen having just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 20th.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, May 4, 1930, the son of the late Harry and the late Anastasia (Welch) Glasheen, he attended Lowell schools and was a graduate from Lowell High School in the Class of 1949. Ed was also a star athlete in high school as a member of both the track and baseball teams.
Ed went on to graduate from Lowell Technical Institute (nka U/Mass Lowell) in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Prior to his retirement in 1992, he worked as a Production Manager at BLH Electronics in Canton MA for many years.
An avid pilot, golfer, reader, painter, and “inventor” in his retirement, Ed also supported the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Rays. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.
He is survived by Edward Glasheen Jr, and his wife Diana (Doyle) of Belgrade ME, Marigail Glasheen of Merrimack NH, Timothy Glasheen and his wife Jeanne (Tourville) of Pelham NH, Thomas Glasheeen Sr. and his wife Susan (Finn) of Hudson NH, and Richard Glasheen and his wife Carol (Leary) of Hudson NH. He also leaves nine grandchildren Kelly (Glasheen) Freitas, Drew Glasheen, Katie Glasheen, Thomas “TJ” Glasheen Jr, Brett Glasheen, Molly Glasheen, Sarah Glasheen, Hannah Glasheen, and Alicia Glasheen. He is also survived by his brother Richard and his wife Rita of Smithtown, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Henry and sister Mary Lang.
Friends may call for a Memorial Visitation at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 9 to 11 A.M. Thursday. His Memorial Funeral Mass will follow at ST.
