Bessie E. NatsiosBeloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 95
Bessie E. Natsios, 95, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 6th at Carleton Willard Village in Bedford. She was the widow of George A. Natsios who died in 1983.
Bessie was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on September 12, 1920, the daughter of the late Elias and Eleni (Mangiavas) Eliopoulos. She attended Lowell public schools and graduated from Lowell High School in 1938 with honors. Bessie held several bookkeeping jobs throughout her life, including working as a bookkeeper for the Lark Dress Company and the 20th Century Shoes. She was a lifelong member of the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, the Philoptochos, the Daughters of Penelope and the Friends of the Osterville Library. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to several countries and for over 30 years she enjoyed summers at her home in Osterville (Cape Cod) with her family. In her later years, her family remained the center of her life. She enjoyed many visits, family gatherings and celebrations. Bessie is survived by her daughters Elaine N. and her husband George P. Patsourakos of Billerica and Atty. Andrea Natsios of Waltham as well as Andrea’s longtime companion William G. Chalifoux. She was the cherished grandmother of Catherine and her husband Salvatore LaRosa of Hudson, MA and Juliana and her husband Matthew Jarvis of Burlington, MA. She was the doting great-“Grammy” of Joseph and Ava LaRosa and triplets Nicholas, Christopher and Eliana Jarvis. She is also survived by her brother-in-law James Natsios and his wife Maria, sisters-in-law Mitzi Natsios and Patricia Natsios, and many nieces and nephews. Bessie was pre-deceased by her siblings Ethel, James, George (lost at sea in World War II), Pauline, Peter and Chris. Her family would like to thank the entire staff and caregivers of Carleton Willard Village for the compassionate care that they provided to Bessie while she resided there. Bessie will be remembered as a highly spirited lady with great love and concern for her family. Friends may call at the O’DONNELL FUNERAL HOME 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday. Her Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home Saturday morning at 10 o’clock followed by her Funeral Service at the HELLENIC ORTHODOX CHURCH of the HOLY TRINITY at 11 o’clock.
