Lorraine A. (Briere) West
Lifelong resident of the City;
Lorraine A. (Briere) West, age 86 of Lowell, died peacefully on Friday morning October 2nd, 2015 at Heritage Nursing Care Center.
Lorraine was the beloved wife of the late John West who died in 1996.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, December 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Adrian “Leo” Briere and the late Helen “Ella” (Cormier) Briere, she received her education in the Lowell school system.
Prior to her retirement, Lorraine worked at the VA Hospital in Bedford for many years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed taking family trips to Las Vegas and Hampton Beach, crossword puzzles, reading, dancing, spending time with friends and relaxing at home.
She is survived by her daughter Shirley (West) Peirce and son-in-law Joseph Peirce of Lowell; her three grandchildren James Peirce and wife Kim of Dracut, Eleanor (Peirce) Hatch and husband Mark of Methuen, and Brian Peirce and partner Ryan MacLean of Nashua, NH; her three great grandchildren Joseph Bernardini, Jacqueline Peirce, and Ms. Riley Peirce; her many nieces and nephews and her longtime friend Maureen Scanlon of Lowell.
She was also the mother of the late Brian West.
